Pardon the glare. And my fingers. Anyway, “The Pug Who Wanted to Be a Pumpkin” is the first installment of the “Pug Who Wanted to Be” series that I read. I was looking for a different book in the children’s fiction section at the library when I stumbled upon this cute little book. The cover was so cute, I just had to give it a shot. And I love it!
In this addition to the “Pug Who Wanted to Be” series, poor Peggy has to deal with getting over her fears: fear of the ghost dog in the haunted building in the neighborhood, fear of witches that might try to steal her tail on Halloween night, and fear of monsters in general. Peggy’s family also have their own fears to deal with: Chloe and her fear of public speaking, Finn and his fear of spiders, and Ruby’s fear of heights. It’s a very cute story that shows all the different ways you can be brave and face your fears. The fact that there’s such a cute doggie in a Halloween costume certainly helps!
It’s so cute. Definitely fit for younger kids.
